The Market Today There are several regular markets that take place, all with distinct, local good quality produce:
Antiques Market: also called the ‘Flea market’ has many quality collectibles for sale by traders and has been operating in the market in one form or another for a long time.
General Market: There are around 40 different traders in this market
from someone selling a pile of socks to a tractor! There
are stalls such as a make your own wine stall, fishmonger, several fruit and veg suppliers, many of which take their food from local farms
as near as 1.5 miles from the market itself. This means that the food got from these retailers is very fresh having been picked the day before or maybe even that morning. Furniture and electrical market: This originally was called a Bazaar, in the Indian street market meaning of the word. This has many retailers of second hand furniture, electrical goods and other household effects,
and is in fact the largest display of its kind in the county
with plenty of bargains.
